The New England Fishery Management Council is scheduling a public meeting of its Scallop Plan Development Team and Advisory Panel to consider actions affecting New England Fisheries in the exclusive economic zone on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.

The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council’s Ecosystem and Ocean Planning Advisory Panel will hold a public meeting on the development of written Council policy on fishing activities that may impact fish habitat on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, from 10 am to 4:30 pm.

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will hold two public hearings and one webinar to solicit public comments on Reef Fish Amendment 43—Hogfish stock definition, status determination criteria, annual catch limits, and size limit. The public hearings will be held from 6-9pm on May 9-11, 2016. All written public comments must be received on or before 5 pm on May 6, 2016.

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will hold a meeting of its Ad Hoc Reef Fish Headboat Advisory Panel from 9am-5pm on May 3, 2016 and from 9am-12pm on May 4, 2016 to determine management goals and objectives for the headboat component.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announces a public meeting of the Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force to develop and implement a program for U.S. waters to prevent introduction and dispersal of aquatic invasive species; to monitor, control, and study such species; and to disseminate related information. The Task Force will meet from 8 am-5:30 pm on May 4, 2016; 8 am-5 pm on May 5, 2016; and 8 am-12:30 pm on May 6, 2016.

The North Pacific Fishery Management Council Crab Plan Team (CPT) will meet May 9, 2016 through May 12, 2016 in Anchorage, Alaska. The agenda includes final assessment on over fishing limits and acceptable biological catch for Pribilof Islands Golden King Crab and Western Aleutian Red King Crab, final Tier 5 Assessment and research foundation update for Aleutian Island Golden King Crab, model development and application to St. Matthew Blue King Crab and Bristol Bay Red King Crab, model discussions and scenarios for September assessment for Tanner Crab, Habitat review and update for Pribilof Island Red King Crab, Snow Crab and other essential fish, research priorities for the CPT, and finalize Stock Assessment and Fishery Evaluation.
